Dominant Swimmer Continues to Make History
Ledecky's 1508.24 Time Sets New Mark
WASHINGTON, D.C. - American swimmer Katie Ledecky has once again made history, setting a new world record in the 1500-meter freestyle at the FINA Swimming World Cup. In her first-ever attempt at the event, Ledecky shattered the record by nearly 10 seconds, finishing with a time of 15:08.24.
The 24-year-old swimmer has dominated women's long-distance swimming since her breakthrough performance at the 2012 London Olympics. She has since won numerous Olympic and world championship medals in the 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle events.
Ledecky's latest achievement comes just after she narrowly missed breaking the world record in the 800-meter freestyle the previous day. Her impressive performance in both events showcases her continued dominance in the sport.
