Frank Anthony Grillo Jr. was born in New York City on June 8, 1965. He is the son of Italian-American parents Frank Sr. and Kathy Grillo. Grillo grew up in the working-class neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn. He attended New Utrecht High School and played football and baseball.

After graduating from high school, Grillo attended SUNY Purchase, where he studied acting. He dropped out after one year to pursue a career in modeling. Grillo worked as a model for several years, appearing in ads for brands such as Calvin Klein and Armani.

Grillo's acting career began in the early 1990s with small roles in films and television shows.

He had his first major role in the 1995 film "Cop Land," which starred Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro. Grillo continued to appear in supporting roles in films such as "The Negotiator" (1998), "Minority Report" (2002), and "The Grey" (2011).

In 2014, Grillo had his breakout role in the film "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." He played Brock Rumlow, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who turns against Captain America. Grillo reprised his role in the 2016 film "Captain America: Civil War." Since becoming a star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has continued to star in leading roles in films such as "The Purge: Anarchy" (2014), "Warrior" (2015), and "Wheelman" (2017).

Grillo is set to star in several upcoming films, including "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard" (2021) and "Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend" (2022).

He is also set to reprise his role as Brock Rumlow in the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" (2021). Grillo is a talented and versatile actor who has starred in a wide range of films. He is a rising star in Hollywood and is sure to continue to impress audiences for years to come.
